Lean on, Lean in

 

I need to lean into Your arms of love,

And  feel Your protective embrace,

To absorb the depths of Your grace,

Like the blessing of sun on my face.

I need to lean in, and let You catch me a while,

And for a moment let go of all care,

To take a pause, and acknowledge You,

And remember Your faithfulness too.

Moments like this are magnificent,

Magnified moments of bliss,

Transcending the day with it's cares and woes,

Tender moments to be held and be His.

I need to lean on my rock,

 My Redeemer who is always there,

His loving kindness is everywhere, 

As soft and sustaining as air.

In fact, I will lean in, for the rest of today,

Carrying this moment, as I go on my way,

To revisit often this treasure in my heart,

Where my sweet Saviour, will never depart.

Lean on, Lean in, hide under His wing,

Fountains of love and blessing are in Him,

Let His loving kindness be your guiding light,

His overwhelming goodness, the anchor of your life.

I had a few moments today, a little break, sitting in my car watching the morning sun and I just had that feeling I wanted to lean on God, I needed Him to catch me, hold me and support me. A bit like the game we used to play where you fall and let people catch you, it is a game of trust, which is not always easy. The faith and trust required can be difficult when placed in human beings. 

But I want to lean on The Rock that is higher than I.

There are also moments that when you truly focus on Him, it transcends the everyday in a way that is hard to put into words, there is something eternal about it. Some moments can be more than just a moment they can be defining, life defining and faith sustaining. Precious moment when you just stop everything and be with  Him, and I need to make space for a lot more of those moments.
