Beautiful Fences
I like to call them my beautiful fences,
Those boundary lines in pleasant places,
Mine's a white picket fence, with a wide open gate,
Which I can also close tight, to keep everything safe.
Inside my garden are the most beautiful flowers,
Special people to care for, and treasure for hours,
My duty, my pleasure, my commission from above,
To nurture, and grow all God gave me to love.
Within my home, sitting cosy by the fire,
You will find me there at the feet of Messiah,
I often bring a flower that is close to my heart,
To join sweet community, there by the hearth.
My cup runneth over, and I,m delighted to share,
Everything I learn from my Saviour right there,
At times to restore, I need rest for my soul,
Only my Redeemer can make me feel whole.
