A New Spirituality or the Worlds Oldest Lie!

Part 1

At best New Age practices are

Self seeking

Self serving

Self aggrandizing

Money making hogwash

At worst they are a deception

that leads to the very gates 

of hell!

I say this as one, who was fascinated and spent many decades dabbling in any airy fairy new age concept going.

It all started in my teens, I was in a pub and a woman, whom, I didn't know, began revealing things about my life. 

I was intrigued, she said she didn't need tarot cards or a crystal ball, she could just read me!

For a person like me, who desperately sought to be known and understood, this was my Kryptonite and I was hooked!

I was interested in every form of divination. I needed answers, I needed guidance!

I consulted fortune tellers, most of their stories didn't make any sense at all!

 I played with tarot cards, having absolutely no idea what I was doing.

 I read my horoscope and tried to look deeper into astrology and began using a pendulum to ask the universe questions.

In a bid to bolster my ever flagging self esteem, I read every self help book going! 

I read about near death experiences and it seemed we were all going to heaven anyway.

 I was convinced that I wasn't doing anything really wrong. 

Jesus knew my heart!

As long as I stayed in the lighter side of things and didnt start doing Ouija boards,

 I was ok, I was still basically a good person!

In a world where everything goes, Dawn had a go at everything!

One day I read a book called " Living Magically" by Gill Edwards. 

Oh how this book appealed to me, I read it 7 times and every book by the same author.

The books combined meta physics and the law of attraction theories with channelled writings.  Channelled messages being messages obtained from spirit.

The basic theme in the books is that we are

 " Creative Sparks of the Divine! " 

" We are made from the same stuff as stardust! " 

" We are co creators with God! "

Oh how it appealed to my vanity and I lapped it up.

 As co creators with God we were actively creating our own lives with our thoughts. As long as we thought positive thoughts we could create our own blissful utopia!

Life was a blank canvas, and we could paint whatever picture we chose in glorious technicolor. 

If we could think it, or dream it, then the world could be ours!

In her book " Conscious Medicine" Gill Edwards avowed that we even created our own illnesses, by our own negative thoughts or negative patterns of behaviour causing blockages!

The Christians had got it all wrong! 

They were stale and unevolved. 

They simply hadn't caught up with the new spirituality!

Christ or Christ consciousness was in everyone!

God was in everything!

The only really big sin, was not believing in your own divinity!

I voraciously read books, that were said to be channelled by wise ones or spirit guides.

 The romantic, old fashioned language and the subtle use of false truths and half truths made them compelling reading.

 Biblical truths were distorted. 

In the book " Ask and it shall be given" Esther and Jerry Hicks channel a spirit guide named

 " Abraham. " 

The title is a well known bible verse from Matthew 7 v 7, so  anyone from the West and a bible believing background will find it appealing. 

The book deals with the law of attraction and states that we created ourselves. Each one of us, has and is, constantly creating their own reality. 

Those in humble circumstances, have created that reality in order to complete their cosmic evolution!

 " From the non physical, You, created you and now from the physical, you continue to create! "

" When you are consciously aware of your own thoughts, and you are deliberately offering them, you are the deliberate creator of your own reality, and that is what you intended when you made the decision to come forth into this body.

A Course in Miracles, which is referred to as the New Age bible is supposedly a modern day revelation from Jesus himself!

 An inner voice identifying as Jesus is said to have dictated " A Course in Miracles" to Helen Cohn Schucman over the course of 7 years.

"A Course in Miracles" states that:

" Do not make the mistake of clinging to the old rugged cross!

The journey to the cross, should be the last useless journey!"

In her book "Love without End," Glenda Green claims that whilst painting a picture of Jesus, Jesus or Jeshua as she calls him. Jeshua sat and chatted with her and revealed the secrets of the universe.

She expands on the God is in everything, New Age theory, by suggesting that everything is made up from a God particle, which she calls the "adamantine particle!"

" Humanity is on the threshold of moving into a new era of scientific  understanding that will reveal energy to be generated by patterns of  attraction, rather than patterns of resistance. "

So New Spirituality tells us that,

We do not need God ,Our Father

He is everywhere,

in everyone

we are gods!

We do not need God, the creator

We are co creators!

We created ourselves!

We do not need a Saviour!

There was no need for the cross!

we have our own inbuilt

 "Christ consciousness that we can tap into at any time!"

We are enlightened, 

We are light,

We are love!

We just need to think positive thoughts!

We are evoving!

and 

contrary to what the bible says

The World is getting better!

You just need to connect with your

"Higher Self"

And 

" The all that is or Source! "

By whatever path you choose!

Anything goes!

You can believe any nonsense you like,

even speak to fairies at the bottom of your garden!

but whatever you do!

Do not be as unenlightened,

Or as unevolved,

As to believe

THE BIBLE!
