Eternity

 Lord, I am going to need eternity,

To learn everything, about You,

My days are never long enough,

And I'm tired before they are through.

I want to know Your word,

To study, all day long,

But, I barely scratch the surface,

And another day is gone.

Lord, I am going to need eternity,

To share with You, all of my heart.

My time in prayer seems so short,

That I hardly begin to start.

Lord, I am going to need eternity,

To learn to love like You,

To value the heart's of others,

As dearly as You do.

Lord, I am going to need eternity,

To spend long enough with You,

Quiet times are over so quickly,

And I have to run, before I am through.

Lord, I am going to need eternity,

To understand all You have done for me.

I long to hear it from You, surrounded,

By the blessed company of three.

Lord, I am going to need eternity,

To praise You for 10,000 years,

When I think of Your love for a moment,

My eyes are brimming with tears.

Lord, I am going to need eternity,

To thank you for all that You've done,

May my gratitude forever be the wings,

 Carrying me, to my heavenly home.
