Relational Beautiful Father

 You longed to dwell with Your people,

But for Your presence they didn't care,

Glimpses of Your holiness were ,

More than they could bear.

With a cloud by day, and fire by night,

You guided Your children home,

But captives to sin and selfishness,

They wanted to go it alone.

What had happened to mankind?

After so many generations of sin,

When walking together in Eden,

Was such a beautiful place to begin.

Heart wrenching tragedy, 

The deceiver had got to them,

Your joy, Your delight, Your children,

When would You walk with them again?

Walking with You my Father,

I can barely imagine such bliss,

Oh for shame, when sin entered,

Your children ran and hid.

You longed to gather them to You,

Safely nestled under Your wing,

Cherished, loved and adored,

Over Your children You sing.

Eternal love and faithfulness,

Unending, undying love,

You will never give up on us,

Until we are with You above.

Relational beautiful Father,

Your heart is still to restore,

You long to gather Your children,

Under Your wings forevermore.
