Love Came Down

 

The face which lights up heaven, was coming on a mission.

To redeem the lost and broken, His holy commission.

He who formed the mountains, was coming down to earth.

Emptying Himself of glory, to have a lowly birth.

Wonder of wonders, what on earth can compare?

To such infinite love, for sinners everywhere.

Ground breaking miracle, love was coming down.

Oh heavenly Father, how your grace abounds!

Angels gaze in wonder, at such tender compassion,

Our everlasting Father, loves with such abandon!

He would do anything, to save His family.

Already knowing, what the ending would be!

Forsaking His glory, Gods only Son.

Who had been from the beginning, since the world begun.

That our beautiful Saviour, should leave His heavenly throne,

Is a thing too wonderful, for me to know!

As the Father loved Him, He showed us His love.

He demonstrated the heart, of our Father above!

How can we not worship, in spirit and in truth?

Such should be our joy, that our praises raise the roof!

Glory to God in the Highest, and on earth be peace.

Love came down from heaven, to rescue you and me!

As we peer in the stable, at this special time.

Do we ever stop to wonder, what he left behind?

Let all the earth, in joyful praises ring!

Sing with abandon, to our heavenly King!

The one who angels worship, who heaven adores!

Longs for your heart, He's knocking at the door.

Open your heart, let the love of Jesus in,

As His grace washes over you, eternity begins.

Abiding with Jesus gets better every day!

His love came down at Christmas, and its here to stay!
