I've chosen the way of faithfulness

Of the fruits of the Spirit, I long to possess,

Please give me the gift of faithfulness.

To serve with devotion, is my heart's desire,

To run the good race, like those I admire.

Like Daniel, even living the captive life,

And Joseph, when cornered by Potipher's wife.

Abraham, as he went to the mountain that day,

Young David, when facing a giant to slay.

I choose the way of faithfulness,

Like Hulda, and Deborah the prophetess.

Miriam, who led the women to sing,

And Rahab, who trusted Israels King!

Esther stood bravely, when backed up with prayer,

Loyal Ruth, followed Naomi everywhere.

Anna, who spent her life in the temple,

And honourable Hannah, are excellent examples.

I gladly remember the stories of old,

Of Moses and Joshua, heroes so bold.

Of miracles, angels, visions and dreams,

Tall fruitful trees and clear flowing streams.

God shows His faithfulness, even when we fail,

He was even with Jonah, in the stomach of the whale.

David knew, there was nowhere to run,

God could make darkness, shine like the sun.

Demonstrating to Hosea, the depths of His pain,

At Israels unfaithfulness, again and again!

His heart to Jeremiah, who passionately cried,

Return to God, for judgement is nigh!

Each page of my bible, filled with the love,

Of our Great and Beautiful, Passionate God!

Who shows His faithfulness again and again,

Longing for His family, right to the end!

But the Greatest Story ever told,

The one which angels, love to behold!

Yeshua, was faithful right to the end,

Drinking the cup, of our sin and shame!

What can I give Him, what can I bring?

How can I truly be faithful to Him?

Only abiding in Him, every day.

Oh quadruple my faith, Oh Lord I pray!
